X Games athletes who finished on the podium over the weekend got more than just medals for hardware. Each were awarded Gibson Les Paul Melody Makers as well.

The guitars, as you can imagine, were also gold, silver and bronze and featured the X Games Austin logo on the front.

“It gives that Austin flair to the moment, and kind of helps just remind people where we’re at when we’re giving the medals,” said Tim Reed, ESPN’s senior director of events and content for the X Games. “Austin’s cool, and music’s important so it’s just kind of a way to connect the dots there.”

The medals themselves were also special to the Lone Star State. Each featured a longhorn skull and the X Games logo, and on the back had a loop and a prong so they can be worn as a belt buckle. Yee haw.
