Rusty Wallace came out of racing retirement to participate in this year’s X Games.

He failed to qualify for the finals in Sunday’s off-road truck race.

But he was happy with the experience.

“I got my ass kicked, but I had a great time,” Wallace told ESPN. “I loved it. I really did.”

Wallace is 58. He’s in the NASCAR and International Motorsports Hall of Fame.

He’ll have to work a bit more on his X Games racing.
